George Smith Magnolia

We are delighted that there is now a magnolia named after George. The magnolia is an F1 Gresham hybrid, grafted on to Kobus rootstock and it was raised by John Gallagher of Verwood.

The George Smith magnolia has the most beautiful large white flowers. We are hoping that the magnolias will be available from the autumn 2017/spring 2018 onwards. We are very grateful to John for naming this beautiful plant after George.
